• � Bid No. 86-1 <br /> Contract: No. 10A514 <br /> Page 8 _ of 48.:_ <br /> RAILROAD RELATIONS AND INSURANCE <br /> RELATIONS WITH RAILROAD <br /> General .--The Contractor shall cooperate with the Southern Pacific. <br /> Transportation Company, hereinafter referred to as "Railroad," where work is <br /> adjacent to its tracks within Parcel No. 11078, in order to expedite- the work <br /> and to avoid interference with- the operation of railroad equipment. <br /> It is expected. that. the Railroad will cooperate with the Contractor to the <br /> end in. order° that the work may be handled in an efficient manner, but the <br /> Contractor shall have no claim for damage or extra compensation in the event <br /> his work is held up by the- Railroad. <br /> Railroad Requirements.--The .Contractor shall notify the office of <br /> Railroad' s Assistant Regional Engineer, 401 I Street, Sacramento, CA 95814, <br /> telephone (916) 449-161.2, and Caltrans' District 10 Contract Administrator at, <br /> least five (5) working days before performing the work on the property of <br /> Railroad. <br /> The Contractor shall not pile. or store any materi-als,. nor park his <br /> equipment closer than 10'-01" to the center of the nearest. Railroad track. <br /> Plans of shoring at all excavations adjacent to tracks shall be submitted. <br /> to Railroad for approval before beginning the excavation adjacent to the <br /> track. <br /> Opened excavations shall be provided with barricades, signs, lights,. <br /> except red lights, or other adequate warning at night or when left unattended <br /> satisfactory to the Engineer. <br /> The details of construction affecting Railroad tracks and property not <br /> included. ingement on <br /> thecontract <br /> thetions nd - submittedthe above <br /> to N <br /> Railroad. for approval before such work is undertaken. <br /> The Contractor shall perform his work in such manner and at such times as <br /> to not endanger or interfere with the safe operation of the tracks and property <br /> of Railroad and. the trafficmoving on such tracks,. as well as wires, signals <br /> andother property of Railroad, its tenants or licensees, at or- in the vicinity <br /> of the work. <br /> The Contractor shall comply with the rules and regulations of Railroad or <br /> the instructions of its representatives in relation to the proper- manner of <br /> protecting the tracks and property of Railroad and the traffic moving on such <br /> tracks, as well as the wires,. signals and, other property of Railroad, its <br /> tenants or licensees, at. and in the vicinity of the work during the period of <br /> construction.. <br /> The Contractor shall , upon completion of the work covered by this <br /> contract, to be performed by Contractor upon the premises of Railroad, promptly <br /> remove- from the premises of Railroad all of Contractor's tools, implements and <br /> other materials, whether brought upon said premises by said Contractor or any <br /> Subcontractor, employee or . agent of Contractor or of any Subcontractor, and <br /> cause said premises to be left in a clean and presentable condition.. <br />
