k4 KLEINFELDER
File No. 20-1046-94
June 1, 1994
Ms. Florence Stauter
Tom Mehringer Construction
1820 Bidwell Street
Red Bluff, CA 95080
Subject: FIELD DENSITY TESTS
STOCKTON METROPOLITAN AIRPORT
STOCKTON, CALIFORNIA
Dear Ms. Stauter:
INTRODUCTION
This report presents the results of compaction tests taken at the subject project. At your request,
a representative of our firm performed tests on April 12 and 15, 1994 on an intermittent basis.
The test results conform to the compaction requirements of the project specifications. The
results, shown on Table I and the Corp of Engineers test sheets, were given to your
representative on the test dates.
WORK AT THE PROJECT SITE
Three tests were taken by the nuclear probe and sand cone test methods at random locations on
an AR pad. Samples of the materials tested were brought to our laboratory for determination
of the maximum density-optimum moisture content. The laboratory test results are shown ou
Table I and the Corp of Engineers test sheets.
LIMITATIONS
The tests were performed at finished subgrade and are only representative of the locations tested.
The depth of fill is unknown.
Since Kleinfelder, Inc. did not perform a geotechnical study for this site, we cannot accept any
responsibility for the adequacy of any geotechnical recommendations. The scope of our work
was strictly limited to density testing in the areas noted.
We have employed accepted engineering and testing procedures. However, we do not undertake
the guarantee of construction, nor do we relieve the contractor of his primary responsibility to
produce a completed project conforming to project plans and specifications.
KLEINFELDIR 1W 1,East Mynle Street,Stakton,CA 9526..
