NAW <br /> TOM MEHRINGER CONSTRUCTION, INC . <br /> Underground Storage Tank( s ) Removal Plan. <br /> 1 . Location: San Joaquin County, Stockton Metropolitan Airport <br /> Airport Way & Arch Road, Stockton, CA. <br /> 2 . Owner of tank( s ) : Federal Aviation Administration <br /> 3. Contents, past or current: 1000 gal <br /> Diesel <br /> 4 . Removal contractor: Tom Mehringer Construction, Inc. - (916)527-5014 <br /> 5 . Procedure : Before excavation begins, any residual sludge or <br /> free liquid will be removed by owner. Clean excavated material <br /> will be stockpiled on-site for use in backfilling the excavation. <br /> The tank will then be uncovered with a backhoe . <br /> Tank will be excavated on three sides but tank will not be removed <br /> from the ground. The tank will be decontaminated by washing with <br /> a high pressure detergent solution. Then, flammable vapors will <br /> be purged by introducing 20 pounds of dry ice per 1000 gallon of <br /> capacity into the tank, sealing all openings, except for the vent <br /> port for at least one hour before tank removal . Upon inspection <br /> approval , the tank will be removed from the excavated site . <br /> (Optionally, the tank may be removed from the job site as soon as <br /> possible by a licensed hazardous waste disposal <br /> transportor/contractor. <br /> Any obviously contaminated soils will be excavated and stockpiled <br /> on-site and soil samples will be taken from the bottom of the <br /> excavation. At lease one sample wll be taken for each 200 square <br /> feet of tank excavation. The stockpiled soil will be covered with <br /> plastic. Collected samples shall be properly sealed, labeled, and <br /> placed on ice at the site to maintain the appropriate temperature . <br /> A San Ioawin County Environmental Health <br /> representative reserves the right to seal samples with evidence <br /> tape to ensure sample integrity. <br /> 6 . Soil Samples taken by: RMCI Lab. - Kevin McNeill <br /> Lakewood, Colorado - PH.#303-969-8778 <br /> Soil samples to be analyzed as required for TPH-Gas, BTX&E, and <br /> Total Lead. <br /> Same as above - RMCI (Federal contractor) <br /> 7 . Soil Analyzed by: Lakewood, Colorado - Ph. 303-969-8778 <br /> 8 . Waste Disposal : Any contaminated MUU a0JX residual waterials <br /> from inside the tank, including sludge and detergent wash water, <br /> will be manifested onsite and transported by licensed hazardous <br /> waste hauler. <br /> 9 .
