Wilson , <br /> In Re : 12470 E . Locke Road , Lockeford , California 95237 <br /> As you and I had discussed , after a minor fire at this site, <br /> numerous regulatory agencies were on site and indicated that <br /> various hazardous materials must be properly disposed of . <br /> Currently , Ethanol Products , Inc . 1s negotiating a purchase <br /> contract for this property . It is our understanding that a <br /> company called U .S .Gasahol , Inc . ha.s title to the property and <br /> they filed for bankruptcy in 1984 . We are aware that San Joaquin <br /> County is in a first position with their tax lien . We believe <br /> that the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation also is in line <br /> with a lien against the property . <br /> At this Juncture in time, we have no interest in the property <br /> legally . Our only involvement is as that of a potential <br /> purchaser . The incident which caused the Fire Department and <br /> Regulatory Agencies to be on scene as well as the materials at <br /> the property which need disposal are not ours . As we have no <br /> legal position in the property , we are unable to address the <br /> cleanup issues . <br /> In that regard , I have attached a copy of the letter from <br /> Acting Satallion Fire Chief James G . Martinez of the Mokelumne <br /> Rural County Fire Department . This letter should be directed to <br /> the responsible property owner by your department . For your <br /> further information , in walking the property , we have discovered <br /> that there is on site what appears to be an approximate 500 <br /> gallon underground empty gasoline tank and it has been reported <br /> to us that approximately twenty years ago this facility ' s boiler <br /> operated on bunker fuel prior to switching to natural gas . We <br /> have followed what appears to be the old bunker fuel lines .and <br /> discovered what appears to be an old underground bunker tank <br /> which may be 10 ,000 gallons or more and has a substantial <br /> quantity of bunker oil still in the vault .
