Lodi Avenue (Lodi Avenue & Main Street). On Saturday, July 18, 1998 we received a bill
from your office dated 7/16/98 backdating to 1993 for"UST TANK FEE ---$170" totalling
$6,120.00, half of which was for"UST TANK FEE" of$3,060.00 and penalties of the same
amount of$3,060.00.
Reilly's Car Wash went out of the gasoline business in 1981, and the tanks were emptied,
and have not been used since that time. We are at present preparing to do some
renovation on the location, and so it was decided to remove the tanks from the ground.
The reason for this letter is that I was forewarned about the UST permit fee, but I do not
feel that the Penalty portion is fair, as we have not been using these tanks for some 17
years.
Is there an appeal process for the penalties that have been levied against my location or is
this a decision that can come from you or your office.
1
evin Reilly
Owner
