Air Pressure/Soap Testing
After the inner primary flexible pipe and piping connections have been integrity tested the entire Interstitial space of the GeoFlex Pipe must remain connected and
only then should the outer containment jacket be integrity tested. The connections of the Test Boots are Illustrated and explained on page 15 of this product manual.
Testing Assembly
Inside all Tank Sumps the Test
Gauge Is connected to the brass
fitting at the end of the 36" (900mm)
long Test Tube. The Test Gauge
assembly consists of an air gauge
with a maximum 15 psi scale
connected to a 114" brass tee fitting
which will thread into the brass fitting
at the end of the Test Tube. Wrap
male threads with teflon tape to
Insure a good seal. Connect air
hoses directly to the brass tee fitting
as illustrated.
Air Pressure Testing
Gradually apply air through the Test
Gauge and Connector Tube into the
Interstitial piping line. The interstitial
space of the GeoFlex Piping Is very
small and will not require a large
volume of air. Pressurize system to
no more than 10 pal. During the
pressurization period apply soapy
water to the entire length of the piping
system and check for any air bubbles.
After testing disconnect the Test
Gauge and lay the Test Tube down
into the bottom of the Tank Sump.
i
Routine Sump Inspections
Visual Inspections of all containment sumps should be made on a routine basis to check for water infiltration or for any signs of leaking product. An electronic or
mechanical shut-off leak detection system is recommended for all containment sumps. When changing fuel filters at the dispenser, make sure any spilled product
is cleaned out of the bottom of the dispenser sump to prevent a possible fire hazard.
Periodic Interstitial Testing
Should periodic integrity testing be required to check the integrity of the outer containment wall of the coaxial pipe, reconnect the test boot connector tubes and
initiate an air pressure hold test not to exceed ten pounds per square Inch (10 psi).
Step #1
Step #2 (if necessary)
Step #3 (if necessary)
Step #4
Connect the Test Gauge to the
— Test Gauge
Q
Pressurize interstitlal space to 10 psi
MI
Air tine
the terminating type Dispenser
for a period of one hour.
