FIBERGLASS <br />SCOPE <br />Bulletin No. 82107 <br />October 1, 1993 <br />GF.NERAI, SPECIFICATIONS <br />LIL Listed RED THREAD' IIA Piping <br />PIPE - Pipe shall be manufactured by Smith <br />I iberglass ProdUc(s Inc. by a filament winding <br />process using, a thermosetting epoxy resin to <br />inlprcgnate strands of continuous glass fila- <br />ments which are wound around a mandrel at a <br />prescribed helix angle and under controlled <br />icnsion. All pipe will be supplied with match- <br />ing tapered T.A.B."1 (Threaded and Bonded) <br />coupling and spigot ends or T.A.B. spigot x <br />Spigot ends. <br />CONSTRUCTION <br />2"-4" PIPE - RI:.D Tl IRFAD IIA pipe shall have <br />continuous glass fibers filament wound at a <br />35%" helix angle in a matrix of epoxy resin. <br />Pipe shall be in compliance with ASPM D2310 <br />and classified by its designation code. Pipe <br />shall meet all dimensional and performance <br />requirements, mechanical properties, and shall <br />be classificdwith the following designation <br />codes: <br />Size Designation Code at 73.4" F <br />2"-3" RTRP-11 AE <br />4" RTRP-11AF <br />ITEMS <br />2"-4" PIPE - Glass fiber reinforced filament <br />wound pipe with matching tapered T.A.B. <br />(Threaded and Bonded) coupling and spigot <br />enols. The molding compound shall <br />be reinforced with a mininnnm of 45% <br />chopped glass fiber. 1n -line fittings are fila- <br />ment wound. <br />ADHESIVES - Adhesive and Wring agents shall <br />� <br />be Ul. Listcd DS -8000 series adhesives. <br />Consult Smith Fiberglass Products' installation <br />manual No. B2160 for recommended heat cur- <br />ing techniques. <br />JOINING TECHNIQUES <br />2"-4" PIPE and FITTINGS - Pipe and fittings <br />sliall be joined with DS -8000 series adhesive <br />using matching tapered bclllcoupling and <br />Spigot.
