0
The GeoFlex Piping System
Environ Products Inc offers an environmentally safe, flexible, underground
piping system. The GeoFlex Piping System provides continuous piping runs
between underground storage tanks and the product dispensers making
connections only within containment sumps which are accessible from the surface
GeoFlex Pipe
There are two types of flexible pipe
constructions available for use in direct burial
underground piping applications of hazardous
liquids. GeoFlex I is recommended for use with
hydrocarbon fuels only. GeoFlex 11 is
recommended for both hydrocarbon and alcohol
based liquid fuels. Both flexible pipe designs
have a smooth inner bore, enhancing hydraulic
flow efficiency and providing an excellent
sealing surface for the metallic couplings.
GeoFlex Piping is available in continuous rolls
and packaged in easy to handle protective
cartons and reels. Currently available are 1-1/2"
0
for routine inspection and future maintenance. This complete system includes
flexible piping and fittings, tank sumps, dispenser sumps, pipe entry seals and
leak detection. The system components are compatible with most fuels and
chemicals and are designed for direct burial and rigid conduit applications.
and 2' pipe sizes with a variety of other sizes
available in the near future. GeoFlex Piping
offers a unique coaxial design, having both the
inner primary supply pipe and an outer
secondary containment pipe all in one. The
secondary containment Jacket is separated by
stand-off nbs creating a small interstitial space
which allows for optimum flow and has excellent
burial strength. This coaxial design permits
installation of a continuous "Liquid Interstitial
Monitoring System" and makes periodic integrity
air testing simple.
Pressure Piping Systems
GBOFfax Pipe may be used for pressure systems
which typically use a submersible pump installed at
the tank. This manual further explains pump/piping
connections, piping )unctions and pipe routing designs
for these types of piping systems.
Suction Piping Systems
GeoFlex Pipe may be used for suction systems which
typically use a suction pump located in the product
dispenser. This manual further explains suction
pump/piping connections, tank transitions and pipe
routing designs for these types of piping systems.
Index
General Information
This product manual contains useful
information about the GeoFlex Piping
System. Therefore it is recommended
that this manual be read prior to system
specification and installation.
All installing contractors shall be trained
and certified by a factory representative
on the proper installation procedures.
Contact Environ Products Inc for more
information on the installer certification
program.
Only Environ manufactured coupling
equipment and installer tools shall be
used to insure proper installation and
warranty coverage.
Only Environ pipe couplings, fittings,
adapters and seals shall be connected
to the GeoFlex Piping. Conventional
pipe and fittings are permitted for pump
plumbing trees, tank fitting transition and
dispenser riser pipes.
This manual also contains GeoFlex
Piping warranty information (see back
cover) which shall go into effect only if
the installation and integrity testing
procedures are performed in accordance
with this manual.
Introduction .............................................
1
Dispenser Containment Sumps...............
11
Cutting Flexible Pipe .............................. 19
Piping System Information ......................
2
Dispenser Sump Specifications...............
12
Coupling Flexible Pipe ............................. 19
Guide Specifications ...............................
2
Flexible Mounting Frames.......,.......
12
Installing Flexible Pipe Sections.............. 20
Piping System Components ....................
3,4
Dispenser Sump Mounting.......................
13
Flexible Pipe Connections....................... 21
Installer Tools ..........................................
5 -
Other Containment Sumps......................
13
Interconnecting Test Boots...................... 21
Piping System Design .............................
6
Pipe & Conduit Entries......,......................
14
Testing 8 Filling Supply Pipe ................... 22
Pressure Systems Routing
Y 9 .................
6
Tank Sump Plumbing Connections..........
15
Periodic Line Leak Detection Testing...... 22
Interstitial Integrity Testing
g ly g..'.'.................. 23
Piping Design Tools 8 Services ...............
7
Manifold Sum Plumbing Connections....
P 9
16
Periodic Interstitial Testing E Maine. 23
Suction Systems Routing .........................
7
In -Line Sump Plumbing Connections.......
16
...
GeoFlex Piping System Leak Detection.. 24
Pipe Burial Requirements ........................
8
Layout/Design Assistance........................
16
GeoFlex Continuous Monitoring System. 24
Tank Containment Sumps .......................
9
Dispenser Sump Plumbing Connections.
17
Glossary.....................
