• Dispenser Sump Mounting Metal Island Forms A typical installation application for Dispenser Sumps is to mount them inside a pre-engineered metal island forms. It is Important that the sump be mounted in such a manner that the top of the outside strut is flush with the concrete surface of the finished Island. The plastic rain lip should extend 1' above the concrete to prevent surface run-off from entering the sump. Each sump includes a plastic 'Extension Fin' which snaps onto the "Rain Lip" around the top of the sump to catch any outer perimeter leaks from the dispenser. Each Dispenser Sump Is fitted with an 'End Bracket' at each end of the sump for mounting to some type of support bar. Adjustable support bars are available with some types of pre-engineered metal island forms. Other Island forms may require additional field installed support bars. Refer to the details below for additional information. Top Frame Support Fasten the dispenser sump's end brackets to two pieces of lumber which will span across the metal Island form and secure the sump. "iN • Under Frame Support Set the dispenser sump's end brackets over two metal cross supports which span across the metal island form and secure the sump. Top Frame Support Existing concrete islands can be modified to accommodate the dispenser sump by enlarging the pipe access opening. FL__ I O r. _- -- . 0 0suppoos 0 0 0 In-line Piping Sumps Environ offers a small, square base containment sump, for containment of miscellaneous valves, and containment of piping connections made outside of a lank sump or dispenser sump. A typical use of the SBS -3030 would be to contain pipe -lo -pipe coupling connections for long piping runs which are not continuous. Refer to the Tank Sump Product Manual for additional sizing and installation information on these sumps. Other Containment Sumps Specifying Manifold Piping Sumps For 'suction piping systems' manifold containment sumps may be used for future re- routing of products to different dispensers. It is recommended that Flexible Entry Boots be installed in the side walls of all manifold sumps to insure a flexible and watertight pipe entry. The width of the manifold sump should be a minimum of 30' (750mm) to accommodate re-routing connections. Refer to the illustration on page 10 of this product manual for additional information. Environ does not offer manifold piping sumps at this time. Junior Burial Sumps These small containment sumps are available for the containment of miscellaneous valves, small pumps and other plumbing connections.
