Box 8402 <br /> Scotts Valley, CA 95601 <br /> I_ INTRODUCTION <br /> The following documentation concerns the tank removal by <br /> Tank Excavators, and field sampling performed by Safety <br /> Specialists, Inc. at <br /> MANDAL Truck & Trailer <br /> 1629 East Louise Avenue <br /> Lathrup, CA 95330 <br /> Tank Excavators was contracted by MANDAL Truck & Trailer to <br /> excavate , remove and dispose of an underground fuel storage <br /> tank (UST) in accordance with local and state-approved UST <br /> guidelines. <br /> Safety Specialists, Inc. , was contracted to perform field <br /> sampling in accordance with state and local agency approved <br /> methodology. <br /> See accompanying site diagrams for the location of tank, <br /> excavation dimensions, field sampling designations, and <br /> sampling depths. <br /> II. TANK REMOVAL <br /> On March 9, 1992, one 3,000-gallon steel diesel underground <br /> storage tank (UST) was removed from the above referenced <br /> address in the presence of the County Inspector and the <br /> Lathrop Fire Department representative. <br /> Upon tank removal , the following observations were noted: <br /> The tank was observed to be sound with no evidence of <br /> leakage. <br /> TANK REMOVAL SOIL SAMPLE COLLECTION <br /> Immediately after the tank removal, soil samples were <br /> collected from beneath the tank area by using the backhoe <br /> excavator to dig 2-feet below the base of the removed tank, <br /> at each end of the tank, as directed by the county <br />
