INTRODUCTION <br /> A. Location <br /> The site is located along the northbound side of U.S. Highway 99 near Morada <br /> Lane in the City of Stockton, California (see Figure 1). <br /> B. Background <br /> An investigation is being proposed at this site in order to determine whether <br /> petroleum hydrocarbons exist in the soil or groundwater in the vicinity of the <br /> former tank complex. According to Chevron files, the tanks were removed in <br /> June of 1986. <br /> II. SITE DESCRIPTION <br /> A. Vicinity Description <br /> The project site is bordered to the west by a frontage road which runs <br /> adjacent to northbound U.S. Highway 99, and a trailer park to the north, east <br /> and south. Land use in the vicinity is primarily agricultural. <br /> B. Site Location Map <br /> A site location map is presented on Figure 1. <br /> C. Product Storage Tanks (number and capacity) <br /> The project site had three (3) 10,000 gallon subsurface tanks which stored <br /> regular, unleaded, and supreme unleaded gasoline. Two 1,000 gallon subsurface <br /> tanks also stored fuel oil and waste oil on site.
