At this time
PHS/EHD sent removal information to the City of Manteca.
In January of 1992, PHS/EHD performed a site inspection and found the tank abandoned. PHS/EHD
worked with the City of Manteca to foster a removal of the tank. Several extensions were granted.
On April 29, 1992, PHS/EHD sent a billing statement to the City of Manteca for Back Fees for Permit
to Own and/or Operate an Underground Storage Tank Facility. This invoice was paid in full on May
21, 1992 (see enclosed copy).
In July of 1992, a tank removal plan and associated fees were submitted to PHS/EHD (see enclosed
copy). The tank was subsequently removed on July 24, 1992.
Although PHS/EHD never issued a permit to own and/or operate the tank, all fees for this purpose
were paid and the tank was ultimately removed under permit and guidance of PHS/EHD.
It is hoped that this letter will satisfy any permitting requirements for this tank for your application to
the State Water Resources Control Board Cleanup Fund Program. If you need anything further,
please contact Linda Turkatte, Senior REHS, at (209) 468-3441.
Donna Heran, REHS, Director
Environmental Health Division
Linda Turkatte, Senior REHS Diane M.
