BANKS & CO <br /> SAFETY SPECIFICATIONS <br /> 5. 1 SITE SAFETY <br /> Banks & Co. has the responsibility for the safety of all personnel involved in <br /> the performance of work for each job. Banks & Co. also has the responsibility <br /> for preventing persons form entering the work site, excepting employees and other <br /> ' persons involved in the performance of the work. <br /> Banks & Co. has the responsibility for compliance with safety and health <br /> ' standards prescribed under the California Occupational Safety and Health Act, <br /> California Administrative Code, Title S. <br /> It shall be Banks & Co. responsibility to keep the excavated work site barricaded <br /> or closed to prevent entry by unauthorized persons, to be responsible for passage <br /> of Banks & Co. personnel or equipment , and to assure that those permitted to <br /> enter are aware of the hazardi5 and familiar with the safety precautions to be <br /> ' followed. <br /> Specific Requirements: <br /> 1 . A temporary barricade shall be erected a minimum of 6 feet from the outer <br /> expected limit for excavation activities. The barricade will consist of <br /> a minimum 4 feet high continuous barrier. Signs will be erected stating, <br /> "NO SMOKING" . <br /> 2. Appropriate Personal Protective Equipment, hard hats, safety glasses and <br /> steel-shank and toed boots must be worn at all times within the barricaded <br /> area. <br /> Banks & Co. shall conduct operations to avoid closing or obstructing any portion <br /> of any highway, road or other property until permits have been obtained from the <br /> proper authorities. If any of the above are required to be kept open or shall <br /> be rendered unsafe by tank removal procedures, Banks & Co. shall make such <br /> ' repairs and provide such temporary guards, bridges, lights and other signals as <br /> necessary. These shall be acceptable to the authorities having jurisdiction and <br /> to the site inspector. Banks & Co. shall make all necessary arrangements for the <br /> protection on the convenience of pedestrian traffic along the construction site, <br /> including temporary access to all business establishments, and pedestrian <br /> walkways as required by the site inspector. <br /> ' 5.2 FIRE PROTECTION AND SUPPRESSION <br /> Banks & Co. shall take all reasonable precautions to prevent fires on the work, <br /> ' and in the general vicinity of our operations, and shall be reasonable for all <br /> damages from fires due directly or indirectly to Banks & Co. 's own activities, <br /> our subcontractor's or our employees. Banks & Co. shall maintain all work areas <br /> ' free from unnecessary combustibles and obstructions to fire fighting access. <br /> 9 SITE SAFETY PLAN <br />
