Box 2009
Stockton, CA 95201 W.O. 5961-03-01
RE: Underground Storage Tank Site Closure
San Joaquin Delta College
Dear Ms. Foley,
On behalf of San Joaquin Delta College (SJDC) , this letter is to
advise you that two underground storage tank sites on the SJDC
campus have been restored to their pre-tank condition and the tank
removal project at these two sites is considered complete.
In September 1990, tanks and piping were removed and the underlying
was soil sampled on the two sites under the supervision of ROY F.
WESTON, INC. (WESTON) . M.H. Loe of Ventura, California was the
excavation subcontractor and Twinning Laboratories of Fresno,
California collected and analyzed the soil samples.
The three tanks removed consisted of a 500 gallon waste oil tank
buried near the diesel repair shop, a 500 gallon solvent tank and
a 500 gallon split paint/lacquer thinner tank, both buried near the
"Archies Bunker" in the paint shop area of the Delta College
campus. The tank and piping layouts, as well as the soil sample
locations, are presented in Figure 1. A summary of analytical
results is presented in Table 1.
As all soil sample analytical results were below regulatory action
levels, permission was granted by the EHD to backfill and restore
the two sites (personal communication with Kasey Foley of the EHD,
December 11, 1990) . Site restoration was completed January 26,
1991.
San Joaquin Delta college requests acknowledgement by the EHD that
the subject tanks and piping were removed and that the soil beneath
the tanks and piping was found to be clean.
