The Truck Wash sump sensor VR 205, monitored by the monitoring panel Veeder-Root TLS
250i, was raised approximately six inches off the lowest point of the sump and not located to detect a
leak at the earliest opportunity. Sump was found to have approximately half cup of water at the bottom of
the saddle, beneath the hanging sump sensor. Wiring of the sump sensor was wrapped around the
electrical box to shorten its wire to allow sensor to hang.
-Work order C-130710, dated 11/08/13 by technician Charles, stated 'Soap L2 Alarm' & 'fix sensor in
sump & cleared alarm'. Unclear what 'fix sensor' means.
- Site map, date 11/16/13, by Jesus Reyes, water & rags in drum. Water was removed from several
sumps. 12oz of water was found in soap STP sump.
-Work order W-284844, dated 11/21/13 by technician Wayne, stated 'Soap tank: 2a fuel alarm (STP
sump). ... Set clock to correct time & re-placed sensor at lowest point in sump.'
Monitoring equipment shall be maintained to be able to detect a leak at the earliest possible opportunity.
Immediately relocate this sensor to the lowest point of the soap sump. To avoid water intrusion into the
sump, ensure the area around the sump collar is free of dirt & debris. Rain water should fall through the
pea gravel surrounding sump collar and drain into the environment. Dirt & debris allow water to puddle &
rise over the sump collar into the sump.
Technician placed sensor into ottom of sump saddle.
"t O at
s CP SUllp,
ALL EH STAFF TIME ASSOCIATED WITH FAILING TO COMPLY BY THE ABOVE NOTED DATES WILL BE BILLED AT THE CURRENT HOURLY RATE.
THIS FACILITY IS SUBJECT TO REINSPECTION AT ANY TIME AT EHD'S CURRENT HOURLY RATE.
n R Tits:
EHD 2A-'Rev 04/19/12 Page 3 UST INSPECTION REPORT
