f' s I'd
A
yAt H; rLrH
ADDENDUM ALN F1Rt' { rGM1i:
The purpose of this addendum is to clarify some points in the workplans sub-
mitted to the San Joaquin County Health Department by Canonie Environmental
Services Corp. (Canonie) on behalf of Southern Pacific Transportation
Company (SPTCo. ) . The workplans outline the regulations and procedures to
be followed while performing the work necessary to remove underground fuel
tanks from the sites in Lodi and Tracy, California. Unless site conditions
change, the workplans and the clarifications will be followed:
o The depth to ground water ranges between five and twelve feet
below grade. As stated in the introduction and in Section 2.5.2
of the workplan, the removal of the tanks will be in accordance
with the California Underground Storage Tank Regulations, Califor-
nia Administrative Code (CAC) Title 23, Chapter 3, Subchapter 16,
adopted January 18, 1985, amended June 6, 1985. These regulations
explain the necessary procedures to follow when ground water is
encountered.
o A modified EPA Method 8020 (soil) and EPA Method 602 (water) will
be used to analyze samples for Benzene, Toluene, and Xylene (BTX) .
o PFS Waste Control Services, Inc. (PFS) , EPA #CAD98116445, DHS
#704144 will triple-rinse the tanks on-site. The rinsate will be
containerized in 55 gallon drums and hauled as manifested
hazardous waste to an approved TSD facility or a Class 1 landfill.
The cleaned tanks will be hauled to a scrap yard under a bill of
lading, and a certificate of destruction will be acquired for each
tank.
CanonteEnvir onmentdl
