(threaded and bonded) joint is the primary <br />joining method for pipe -to -couplings (see Fig. 1.4.2). The <br />mechanical locking action -when combined with the ad- <br />hesive -promotes positive make-up of the joint and pre- <br />vents backout during adhesive curing. <br />T.A.B. joint <br />FIGURE 1.4.2 <br />1.5.1 Cutting <br />To cut Smith Fiberglass Products pipe, use one of the fol- <br />lowing: <br />I. Fine tooth (32 teeth/inch) hack saw, or <br />2. Circular saw with a crushed tungsten carbide or rein- <br />forced abrasive blade, or <br />3. Sabre saw with a fine-tooth metal or tungsten carbide <br />grit blade, or <br />4.
