(ARCADIS) has prepared this Well Destruction Summary Report <br /> on behalf of the Union Pacific Railroad Company (UPRR) regarding the former Tracy Contact: <br /> Maintenance Facility located at 720 East 6th Street in Tracy, California (the Site; James Eisert <br /> Figures 1 and 2). <br /> Phone: <br /> 916.786.1871 <br /> Background <br /> Email: <br /> ARCADIS supervised the destruction of 71 wells between November 15 and James.Eisert@ <br /> December 8, 2011 as summarized in the Well Destruction Summary Report, arcadis-us.com <br /> prepared by ARCADIS and dated January 23, 2012 (Summary Report). The 71 wells <br /> were destroyed in accordance with the Well Destruction Work Plan, prepared by Our ref: <br /> RC000709.0003 <br /> ARCADIS and dated October 6, 2011 (the Work Plan). The Work Plan was approved <br /> by the California Regional Water Quality Control Board (RWQCB) in a letter to UPRR <br /> dated November 7, 2011. <br /> Note that the Work Plan proposed to destroy 86 wells; however, one additional well <br /> (SVE-1)was discovered during the 2011 well destruction activities making a new <br /> total of 87 proposed for destruction. SVE-1 was added to the list of wells for <br /> destruction following e-mail approval from the California Regional Water Quality <br /> Control Board (RWQCB)on December 8, 2011. Also note, as described in the <br /> Summary Report, well MW-17B could not be located (after multiple attempts with a <br /> variety of technologies) and therefore was not destroyed. <br /> This summary report describes the destruction of 15 groundwater wells (consisting of <br /> five off-site monitoring and ten on-site injection wells)that were not destroyed during <br /> the previous field event. The 15 wells were destroyed during the week of October 15, <br /> 2012 in accordance with the Work Plan which results in a total of 86 wells being <br /> destroyed and one well that could not be located (MW-17B). <br /> Imagine the result <br /> tracy maint_well destruct rpt(11-14-12).doc <br />
