KLEINFELDER & ASSOCI T S •
1
4 SOIL SAMPLING
At the request of Mr. Wilson, two soil samples were collected from the
' west end of the tank excavation at the approximate locations shown on
Plate 2. The first sample, identified as T-001, was collected from a
stiff clay at approximately 10 feet below grade. A second sample, T-002,
was collected from a stiff clay at approximately 12 feet below grade.
1 The samples were collected using the backhoe bucket to bring soil from
each sample point to the surface. Two to three inches of soil were
scraped away, and clean brass tubes were driven into the soil. The tubes
were immediately sealed with aluminum foil and plastic caps, labeled and
' placed in an iced cooler. Samples were delivered under chain—of—custody
to California Analytical Laboratory, Enseco in West Sacramento,
' California. A copy of the chain—of—custody and laboratory data sheets are
included in Appendix A.
1
1
45-87-250 4
1
