RECEIVES UNDERGROUND TANK PROCESSING PERMIT <br />Erickson, Inc. has received the first Department of Health <br />Services permit specifically for the processing of underground <br />tanks. At this time, Erickson, Inc. is the only State permitted <br />Treatment, Storage, and Disposal (TSD) facility in California for <br />processing of underground tanks. The State Dept. of Health <br />Services has indicated that this is also the first permit of it's <br />kind issued in the United States. The Erickson facility is <br />located in Richmond, CA. <br />Underground tanks, upon removal, that last contained <br />hazardous materials must be transported by a registered hazardous <br />waste transporter with a hazardous waste manifest to a permitted. <br />TSD facility, <br />Residual liquids in the tanks must be removed prior to <br />transport. Tanks that previously contained flammable material <br />must be inerted with dry ice and sealed for transport. The tanks <br />and product that they contained must be properly identified prior <br />to transport to the Erickson Facility. <br />Upon arrival at the Erickson facility the tanks are cleaned <br />of residual sludges in compliance with strict safety and <br />operational procedures. Once cleaned, the tank is transported to <br />a metals recycler and the waste generated by the cleaning process <br />is transported for disposal at a permitted TSD facility. <br />If you or your company will be removing underground storage <br />tanks, contact Erickson, Inc. at 415/235-1393. <br />Specialized Service to Industry Since 1942 <br />
