Aquifer Testing Work Order 2
' Tosco 602 11400 Merritt St Castroville CA
-January 18 2002
' bgs) from bottom and install transducer/data logger Note pump depth below Tie datalogger
and pump together Data logger should be installed above the Pump Put tape on the data
logger to mark where the cable should sit DO NOT DISTURB DATA LOGGERS ONCE THEY
ARE INSTALLED. Record depth of data loggers below
' Depth of Pump and Logger(RW-1)- - 29
Depth of Logger(MW-1): _
' Depth of Logger(MW-4):
Depth of Logger(MW-6):
' Depth of Logger(MW-7) _-a 7-e
Need to,get 24-hours worth of static depth to water readings Using data loggers, water levels will
' be continuously recorded in the extraction well and observation wells at set 1-minute Intervals
(see below)
6) Check computer to make sure that water levels are being recorded Data loggers should
be measuring DTW at 1-minute intervals Check settings by connecting the logger to the
laptop via the enclosed cable and click on "get settings". It should show the well ID and
' Interval at the top. If the interval is different, click on "setup"and change It at the bottom
Also, CLEAR THE MEMORY If possible for each data logger, prior to setting them in the
wells.
' 7) Following Installation of the data loggers, periodically check depth to water measurements In
pumping well and observation wells about 3 times during the day to confirm baseline DTW
readings to make sure the data loggers are working
8) Set up for the next days 3-Hour Step Drawdown Testing (Extraction Well RW-1). Plumb
discharge to holding tank with in-line flow meter
' 9) Record initial flow meter totalizer reading-SG.!; allons
NOTE- Make sure that data loggers are recording data for the wells
DAY 2 APRIL 2 2002—STEP DRAWDOWN TEST
IMPORTANTII DURING THE TEST, CONTINUOUSLY OBSERVE WATER LEVELS IN THE HOLDING
TANK TRUCKS HAVE BEEN PRESCHEDULED TO MAKE AT LEAST 2 PICKUPS ON 412 AND ONE
PICKUP(IF NECESSARY)ON 413. IF PRODUCING A LOT OF WATER, CONTACT KRISSY ASAP
SHE WILL CONTACT DILLARD TO EXPEDITE WATER REMOVAL
1) Check laptop water levels in pumping well and observation wells prior to beginning the step
drawdown test Record DTWs and Time on field data sheets.
' 2) Begin 3-hour step drawdown test by pumping at 3 apm Pump at 3 gpm for approximately
30 minutes. Record start time of test. Continuously observe DTW readings In RW-1 to ensure
' that pumping rate will not draw water below pump
3) If the 3-gpm pumping rate has not produced drawdown in the well, Increase pumping rate
to 4 gpm and pump for 30 minutes. Record water levels at each pump rate on field data
sheets and time of Pumping rate than es.
4) If 1-gpm steps are showing no effect on water levels, Increase pump rate by higher pump
' rate intervals, but be sure to NOT DEWATER THE WELL. Apply selected pumping rates at
30-minute Intervals. Record water levels and f2umping rate chances,
11ARCO\49MWork Requests\Aquiter Test WkReq doc
