SECOR <br /> ' International Incorporated <br /> May 10, 2001 r, <br /> Project 077 41883 330 'f <br /> ' Ms Lon Duncan <br /> San Joaquin County Public Health Services <br /> ' Environmental Health Division �? <br /> 304 East Weber Avenue, Third Floor y <br /> Stockton, California <br /> ' Re Interim Remediation/Multi-Phase Extraction Feasibility Test Report <br /> ARCO Service Station#4932 <br /> ' 16 East Harding Way <br /> Stockton,California <br /> Dear Ms Duncan <br /> SECOR International Incorporated (SECOR), on behalf of Atlantic Richfield Company <br /> ' (ARCO), has prepared this report to document interim remediation/multi-phase <br /> extraction (MPE) feasibility testing that was recently conducted at the site referenced <br /> above (Figures 1 and.2) Interim remediation/feasibility testing was performed at the <br /> site by SECOR on February 12 through 16, 2001 <br /> The objectives of the interim remediation/MPE feasibility testing were 1) to reduce the <br /> ' amount of hydrocarbons in soil and groundwater beneath the site, and 2) to determine <br /> the feasibility of MPE as an applicable technology for remediation at the site The MPE <br /> test was performed in accordance with SECOR's Work Plan for Interim <br /> ' Remediation/Feasibility Testing, dated December 14, 2000, which was approved by Ms <br /> Lori Duncan of San Joaquin County Public Health Services, Environmental Health <br /> Division (SJCEHD) in a letter dated December 21, 2000 (Attachment A) <br /> SITE BACKGROUND <br /> ' The site is currently an active ARCO retail service station located at 16 East Harding <br /> Way in Stockton, California (Figure 1) In 1999, Gettler Ryan Construction of Dublin, <br /> California, performed the excavation and removal of three gasoline underground <br /> ' storage tanks (USTs), and associated dispensers and product lines Approximately 781 <br /> tons of soil was over-excavated from the areas of the UST complex and dispenser <br /> islands during site remodeling activities Confirmation soil samples collected after <br /> ' over-excavation indicated that petroleum hydrocarbons had impacted the soil beneath <br /> the site <br /> ' In August 2000,three groundwater monitoring wells (MW-1,MW-2, and MW-3), one <br /> groundwater monitonng/vapor extraction well (MW-4), and one vapor extraction well <br /> l• (SVE-1) were completed at the site by West Hazmat Drilling of Rancho Cordova, <br />' ' 3017 Kilgore Road, Suite 100, Rancho Cordova, CA 95670 916 861 0400 916 861 0430 Fax www secor com <br />
