Department of Toxic Substances Control
Terry Tamminen 5796 Corporate Avenue
Agency EPA tory Cypress, California 90630-4732
October 22, 2004
Mr. Michael L. Huskins
Vice President, Finance & Legal Affairs
Advanced Technology Interconnect, Inc.
1284 Forgewood Avenue
Sunnyvale, California 94089
Arnold Schwarzenegger
Governor
IN THE MATTER OF: CORRECTIVE ACTION CONSENT AGREEMENT; ADVANCED
TECHNOLOGY INTERCONNECT, INC., DOCKET NUMBER SRPD 04/05SCC-4322
Dear Mr. Huskins:
The Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC) is planning to proceed with
corrective action at the facility located at 555 Carnegie Street in Manteca, California
95336 (Facility). The Corrective action is required to address releases of hazardous
waste or constituents into the environment at or from a hazardous waste facility.
Enclosed is the draft Corrective Action Consent Agreement (Consent Agreement)
proposed by DTSC as the mechanism to facilitate the corrective action process at your
Facility and to ensure that the Facility is adequately investigated and remediated under
DTSC's oversight.
Please note that most of the provisions in this Consent Agreement are standard
provisions that DTSC uses on a statewide basis. We cannot accept any proposed
changes to these provisions without prior approval of DTSC's Permitting and Corrective
Action Division Chief and DTSC's Office of Legal Counsel. Please limit your comments
to the technical issues and the scope of work. If any of your comments results in
negotiation requiring significant input from the Permitting and Corrective Action Division
Chief and / or the Office of Legal Counsel, we will have to revise the Estimate of Costs,
attached as Exhibit A to the Consent Agreement, to reflect this additional process.
DTSC intends to proceed with corrective action at your facility as soon as possible and
would appreciate your prompt response to this letter.
® Printed on Recycled Paper
