(ATII) in the decommissioning of its
Permit -By -Rule, fixed treatment unit (FTU), anodization process wastewater facility in Manteca, California.
Denali is assisting ATII to document the closure activities in accordance with the facility Closure Plan to
be submitted to the California Department of Toxic Substance Control.
We understand that Safety-Kleen has performed decommissioning activities including emptying vessels,
disposing of tank contents and steam cleaning process vessels. The Department of Toxic Substances
Control is requiring a complete set of all documentation involved in the decontamination and
decommissioning activities. Therefore, we need to receive the following records to document
decontamination and decommissioning activities for environmental closure no later than Mayl5, 2004:
• Any regulatory agency permits and correspondence,
• Disposal manifests for process vessel and tank contents,
• Disposal manifests for rinsate or final disposition (if discharged to sanitary sewer under permit),
• Analytical or laboratory results of any samples analyzed from process vessels or rinsate;
• List process vessels emptied and cleaned, procedures followed (e.g. steam clean, triple rinse,
cleaning solution used etc.) and photographs, Safety-Kleen field -logs documenting facility
cleanup and disposal activities.
This will allow Denali to submit a complete facility closure documentation package including the
information documenting Safety-Kleen's activities, as well as those Denali completed by Denali for
subsurface soil investigation.
I look forward to receipt of the requested information.
