This analytical report must be reproduced in its entirety.
Dear Mr. Donaldson:
Five soil samples for Project"4760-A"were received on September 14, 2001, in good
condition. Two of the samples were put in hold by the client. Written results for the
requested analyses are being provided on this October 4, 2001. All holding times were
met.
For the EPA 8081A analysis, the samples were extracted according to EPA method
3550B. The matrix spike and spike duplicate performed on sample#1 HCSTK
(AP22106) had Endrin Aldehyde recoveries (6% and 5.45),below the 57%control limit.
The laboratory control spike had acceptable recoveries for Endrin Aldehyde and the
quality of the sample data was not compromised.
/ For the EPA 8141 A analysis, the samples were extracted according to EPA method
3550B. The matrix spike performed on sample "#3 HCSTK"(AP22108)had Diazinon
recovery at 31.8%,below the 37%control limit. The matrix spike duplicate performed on
sample"#2 HCSTK" (AP22107) had Demeton recovery at 104%, above the 101%
control limit. All other spikes had acceptable recoveries and the quality of the sample
data was not affected.
For the EPA 8015B TPH-Diesel analysis, the samples were extracted according to EPA
method 3550B. The samples were injected at a dilution factor of ten due to the dark,
viscous nature of the sample extracts. The PQLs for target analytes were increased ten
fold due to the required dilution. All sample data generated were acceptable.
For the EPA 6010B analysis, the samples were digested according to EPA method
3050B.
14575 Dm.16.Fm doc
1
