..i
CITATION CIRCUITS 195OWest Fremont street
'
Sto kton California 95203
I N C O R P O R A T E D ! `, I S f , : 5 (209)466-4000
November 10 , 1993
Mr. Doug Wilson , Supervisor
Environmental Health Division
San Joaquin County Public Health Services
445 N. San Joaquin Street
Stockton , CA 95201
Dear Mr. Wilson :
Work has been completed on the contaminated soil discovered
in the plating area last July . Following is a summary of
the work performed and samples taken . Analytical results
and sampling locations of each set of samples are attached .
The potential contamination in the soil was first discovered
on July 23, 1993. A representative from your office was
notified the same day . A series of core samples were taken
from different areas of the trench and sent to Weston Labs
for analysis (Weston Batch #93078453) . This set of samples
failed the TTLC.
Approximately one foot of dirt was then removed from the
trench and a second set of samples taken in the trench on
8-24-93. These samples were likewise sent to Weston Labs
for analysis (Weston Batch 4930BS68B) . This set of samples
also failed the TTLC.
Additional dirt was removed after receiving the second set
of results, and a third set of samples were taken on 9-1-93
and sent to Weston Labs for analysis (Weston Batch
#93095741 ) . These samples passed the TTLC , so they were
resubmitted for TCLP (Weston Batch '#93095794 ) and STLC
( Weston Batch #93098850) . All samples passed the TCLP for
lead , but only one (#3) passed the STLC for both copper and
lead.
Some additional dirt was removed from the areas which failed
the STLC, and a fourth set of samples taken on 9-29-93 and
sent to Weston Labs for STLC analysis (Weston Hatch
#9310SOOB) . Both samples passed for both copper and lead .
These samples, also labeled #1 & #2, were taken from the
same locations as samples #1 & #2 taken on 9-1-93 .
