Stacy Rivera [EH]
From: Novak,Jim <Jim.Novak@sierrachem.com>
Sent: Monday, February 29, 2016 8:41 AM
To: Stacy Rivera [EH]
Cc: Hoge, Scott; Meester, Larry;West, Bryan
Subject: FW: San Joaquin Co. Haz Waste--Reference Sierra Chemical Inspection Stockton
Ms. Rivera—
I am following up on our inquiries for an extension and some clarification on some of the items in your inspection report
of Sierra Chemical 1010 Industrial Drive Stockton CA.
We have been diligently working in house and with outside consultants to bring status into full compliance. This week
we are completing the last of our improved training efforts and plan by the first of next week to send Return to
Compliance letter along with a detailed spreadsheet of the items listed in your report and how each item was
addressed. I may have a few items I need to review with you for further clarification and would like to do so over the
phone or in person.
We have not at this time filled the position that Ms. Hardy occupied and are in process of interviewing new
candidates. In the interim, several of our employees including myself have taken on the role of managing the waste at
the facility and all the components of the regulations.
It is Sierra Chemical Co.'s full intent to be complaint and work with your department to ensure the facility is following
the steps to protect the environment, our employees and the outside community. We look forward to working closely
with you to resolve any issues.
Please feel free to contact me via:
e-mail: lim.nova k@sierrachem.com
cell:423-367-0125
office direct: 209-507-7152
From: Novak, Jim
Sent: Wednesday, January 13, 2016 6:26 PM
To: 'srivera@sjcehd.com'
Subject: San Joaquin Co. Haz Waste--Reference Sierra Chemical Inspection Stockton
Dear Ms. Rivera—
I would like to inform you that Darlene Hardy is no longer working for Sierra Chemical and I have been assigned to
update you on the corrective actions per your Inspection Report received on Dec 12, 2015 by Ms. Hardy.
Sierra Chemical would like to request an extension to the Return to Compliance Certification. Since I am not specifically
aware of the procedure to do so, I am sending the e-mail as an initial request. If further action is needed please let me
know.
Since Ms. Hardy was addressing the Return to Compliance in formal form along with documentation, her recent leave
from the company has delayed your request. Sierra has every intention on addressing each item and currently has made
a lot of progress even with the harsh weather conditions and the holidays.
I
