PUM PEO OACR FOR
REPROCESSING
n1!"'
Lq
• The fireproofed portable storage building should be repaired so the unit is effective in
containing and preventing fires.
RESPONSE: While Sierra disputes that the unit was ineffective in containing and preventing
fires, it had the door knob replaced to address U.S. EPA's concern.See work order, attached as
Exhibit H.
OTHER OBSERVATIONS AND REQUESTS
The Inspection Findings require Sierra to develop, implement, and submit to U.S. EPA a
comprehensive waste survey of the facility's operations and storage areas. In response, Sierra
commissioned its hazardous waste management consultant, ACT Environmental Services, to
perform a comprehensive waste survey as part of preparation of the facility's updated HWMP.
The HWMP identifies all known hazardous waste streams which are generated at the facility and
sets forth procedures Sierra will use to determine whether or not a waste is hazardous and the
amount of waste generated per waste stream. See Exhibit C at pp. 10-12. Furthermore, the
Company has developed and implemented a RCRA Contingency Plan. See Exhibit I.
22
2673I756v.9
