September 10,2009
Dear Ray,
On September 3'd 2009, you had made your inspection of our facility. You asked for a Corrective
Action on the violations as noted on your report and corrections that have been made to order
compliance.
#89 66261.7(f)CCR An empty HW or Haz Mat container( Larger than 5 gallons)was not marked
with the date it was emptied/not managed within one year of being emptied.
Corrective Action: We had 32 empty drums that were located behind our shop - they had
stickers marked"Empty"but no date of becoming empty.
On September 8th, 2009, 32 empty poly &steel drums were marked with a description and have
been dated. A total of 12 used sandblast poly/steel drums have been marked with a description
and dated. These drums will be disposed of within the one year time frame. Please see attached
photos.
Preventive Action: The monthly inspection sheet will include the visual inspection of the stickers
on all empty drums and dates included. The inspection is performed by Bruce Lee on the last day
of each month.
Areas needing attention that where observed during the walk through:
The compressor areas have both been cleaned and cement has been steam cleaned around both of
the compressors.
The waste bulbs will be kept in the cartons until disposed of(will be taken to San Joaquin County
Household Waste Facility in Stockton).
Both Steve Hockett&Bruce Lee will be attending 2 CUPA classes in September and at least 2
more before the end of year. The CUPA classes will be kept up throughout the coming years for
latest information.
We understand the comments as well as the violation and will do a better job ofmaintaining
compliance in all of these areas. Please call or e-mail us with any additional responses or the
closure of this inspection.
We very much appreciated the education and helpful advice on the day of the inspection. Please let
us know if there is any further information that you may require.
Sincerely,
Bruce Lee- Quality and Compliance Coordinator
Advanced Industrial Coatings
950 Industrial Drive
Stockton, Ca. 95206
(209) 234-2700
9/10/2009
