Our objective as a company is to reduce waste
and minimize the adverse effects it may have on our air, water and land through
environmental control.
A. Every employee is responsible for environmental protection in the same manner
he or she is for safety.
B. A prime consideration in design and operation is to minimize or eliminate the
generation of waste.
C. The recycling of material will continue to be given first consideration prior to
disposal of waste.
Lodi Metal Tech's task force is composed of:
Plant Manager -- Chairman
Personnel Director
Hazardous Waste Leadman
The responsibility of the task force is to look at the overall waste program which
consists of:
A. Solids
B. Water
C. Air (V.O.C.)
D. Chemicals used on paint line
E. Assess and prioritize select options for implementing reduction
F. To Monitor performance and check progress
Our primary area of concern is paint overspray, which leads to waste. In January of
1991 we changed paint systems to improve transfer efficiency by 30%. The waste from
our water-borne paint has been tested per Title 22, Article 11 by certified labs. Although
this waste tests non-hazardous, it unfortunately can not be recycled.
The overall program of waste minimizaton and assessment is an ongoing process with
those of us at Lodi Metal Tech.
