• • <br /> JB HUNT TRANSPORTATION <br /> Position Description <br /> Functional Title: Parts Journeyman <br /> Exempt (Y/N): No Department: Parts <br /> Date: March, 2005 Reports To: Parts Manager <br /> SUMMARY <br /> The incumbent is responsible to maintain parts inventory stock by ordering parts and cycle counts to keep <br /> inventory levels accurate. Receive inventory into system by using appropriate equipment and place in <br /> proper shelves to maintain stock. <br /> ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. <br /> 1. Maintain accurate inventory counts in assigned areas. <br /> 2. Handle down unit request as soon as they are filed and signed by the shop supervisor. Locate <br /> parts availability and order. <br /> 3. Receive into inventory parts delivered by carriers, check for accuracy, input into computer and <br /> place in proper location. <br /> 4. Order inventory before levels run out,using established procedures. <br /> 5. Maintain fuel inventory at adequate levels and order as needed. <br /> 6. Send out tools for repair, fill out proper forms and log for tracking purposes. <br /> 7. Order supplies to maintain service vehicles. <br /> 8. Order ship supplies keep station maintained(welding,janitorial and cleaning supplies). <br /> 9. Receive salvage/claims loads, log and place in storage. Maintain constant contact with Claims <br /> Department for disposition. <br /> 10. Record and check that invoices are written down on Purchase Order Book. Verify accuracy, copy <br /> items for archives and call vendors on discrepancies. <br /> 11. Research into parts availability of non-stock items when work with large project parts requests. <br /> 12. Assist mechanics with technical help by researching as needed. <br /> 13.
