Main Street <br /> Stockton, CA 95202 <br /> RE: Managing Aerosol Cans as Universal Waste <br /> Mr. Flue: <br /> Thank you for your inquiry concerning the operation of the aerosol can disposal <br /> method and procedure at my 2660 Loomis Road, Stockton, California location. I have <br /> reviewed the installation and operating procedures to confirm they conform to the <br /> manufacturer's instructions and applicable health and safety codes. All points that are of <br /> concern will be addressed in this letter. <br /> Unit Installation & Placement. The installation is according to manufacturer <br /> guidelines. The system is grounded to prevent static electricity in order to prevent an <br /> explosion caused by an electrical spark. The equipment is designed and operated in a <br /> manner that prevents unauthorized releases to the environment. The unit is placed in an <br /> area that is non-earthen, that does not have cracks or gaps. The area is impervious and <br /> has containment that would contain accidental leaks or spill should they happen. The <br /> area is well-ventilated to prevent possible collection of vapors that could be a hazard. <br /> Operating Procedure. The unit is operated using the written procedures <br /> published by the manufacturer. Additionally, the manufacturer operating procedures <br /> state safety goggles are to be worn when operating the device. It is the policy of J.B. <br /> Hunt Transport, Inc. to wear a face shield in additional to the safety goggles. <br /> Spill Clean Up. A spill kit is located in the area to be available in the event there <br /> is an accidental spill. <br /> Proper Handling and Transfer of Product. The product is labeled with the site <br /> EPA ID #, date of accumulation and other information that identifies the product as well <br /> as the storage, handling and transfer procedures of the product. <br /> P.O.
