'Si LrAN <br /> Correspondence � CONTAINER. .MANUFACTURING <br /> 0 0 0 0 0 <br /> 6180 Roselle Ave <br /> Riverbank Ca,95367 <br /> Bob Bennett <br /> Environmental Engineering/ Riverbank Sales <br /> Tuesday,April 22,2008 ES08-L-219 <br /> San Joaquin County EHD <br /> 600 East Main St. <br /> Stockton,CA 95202 <br /> Re: Inspection of Silgan Containers Mfg.Corp., 1815 Navy Drive,3/24/08 <br /> There were four items,specifically noted in the inspection report and addressed by the report as violations. <br /> The items are paraphrased below with notes as to actions taken by Silgan,as follows: <br /> #19—A drum of Copper Sulfate/HCL waste was observed in the waste storage building,labeled with an <br /> accumulation start date of 2/7/01. California allows a maximum of 90 days to store waste on site without a <br /> TSDF permit. The material was profiled through Univar USA Inc. and removed by Univar USA on <br /> 4/11/08 to Siemens Water Tech. Corp. See Attached copy of manifest,(003512478JJK). <br /> #75—A stack of florescent tubes and waste basket of broken tubes was observed in the waste storage <br /> building. Universal waste regulations require generators to sequester,contain,and store universal waste in <br /> appropriate containers. The material was profiled through Univar USA Inc.,packaged and removed by <br /> Univar USA on 4/11/08. See Attached copy of manifest,(000012114). <br /> #77—A container,drum,of Universal waste was observed in the waste storage building,labeled with a <br /> date of 11/9/05. California allows a maximum of one year to store universal waste on site without a TSDF <br /> permit. The material was profiled through Univar USA Inc. and removed by MXI Univar USA on 3/26/08 <br /> to Veolia ES Tech Solutions. See Attached copy of manifest#000007042. <br /> #91—An/(8)empty drum/s,with empty label/s, dated 1/1/07 was/were observed in the waste storage <br /> building. California allows a maximum of one year to store empty containers/drums,which previously <br /> contained hazardous material,on site without a TSDF permit. The material was profiled through Univar <br /> USA Inc. and removed by Univar USA on 4/11/08 and 4/16/08.
