(NASDAQ: PEIX) is now in operation in the Port
of Stockton industrial park.
Pacific Ethanol says it has a grand opening ceremony planned for the plant, its second California ethanol plant,
for Oct. 10.
"The start-up of our Stockton plant marks the achievement of our goal of 220 million gallons of annual
production capacity and dramatically increases the availability of renewable fuels produced in the state of
California,"says Neil Koehler, Pacific Ethanol's president and CEO.
The 60 million gallon per year Stockton facility is located at the Port of Stockton, with access to water, rail and
road transportation.
It's also handy for another product of the plant - wet distillers grain, which can be sold as food for the region's
one million dairy cows.
The Stockton plant will process 21 million bushels of corn per year, producing both ethanol and 500,000 tons
of wet distiller's grain annually.
Pacific Ethanol, based in Sacramento, has two California ethanol plants -- in Madera and Stockton. It also
operates plants in Boardman, Ore., and Burley, Idaho. The company also owns a 42 percent interest in Front
Range Energy LLC, which owns an ethanol plant in Windsor, Colo.
Copyright Central Valley Business Times © 2008
Central Valley Business Times is an online unit of BizGnus, Inc.
All rights reserved.
