HAZARDOUS WASTE OIL TANK ASSESSMENT REPORT
(Residential Used Oil Storage Tank)
Waste Management, Inc.
Central Valley Waste Transfer Station
1333 E. Turner Road
Lodi, California 95241-9501
BACKGROUND
Waste Management, Inc. (WMI) owns and operates a transfer station at 1333 E. Turner Road, in
Lodi, California. The transfer station receives used oil from residential customers and recycles
the used oil. The used oil is temporarily stored in an above ground `waste oil' tank until removed
for processing and recycling by Evergreen Environmental Services, Inc., (Evergreen).
There is a fleet maintenance shop located at the transfer station that temporarily stores used oil in
a `waste oil' tank until removed for processing and recycling by Evergreen. The fleet
maintenance shop waste oil storage tank is addressed in a separate tank assessment report. This
Hazardous Waste Oil Tank Assessment Report addresses the system design, structural strength,
and waste compatibility of the tank used to store used oil collected from residential customers
only.
The purpose of this waste tank assessment is to evaluate whether the existing tank system was
adequately designed, and has sufficient structural strength and compatibility with the wastes to
be transferred and stored, as described in Title 22, California Code of Regulations, §66265.192,
Design and Installation of New Tank Systems or Components (22 CCR §66265.192). The Waste
Tank Assessment Report must be a written document that describes the following, at a
minimum:
(1) Design standard(s), according to which the tank and ancillary equipment were
constructed, if design standards are available;
(2) Hazardous characteristics of the waste(s) that have been or will be transferred and
stored in tank;
(3) Existing corrosion protection measures;
(4) Age of the tank system, if available; and,
(5) Results of leak tests, internal inspections, or other tank integrity testing that has
been completed and dates completed.
Hazardous Waste Oil Tank Assessment Report 1 NES. Inc.
Waste Management. Inc - Central Valley Waste Transfer Station NES Project Number 289.EC743.00
Lodi. California
