HAZARDOUS WASTE OIL TANK ASSESSMENT REPORT <br />(Fleet Maintenance Used Oil. Storage Tank) <br />Waste Management, Inc. <br />Central Valley Waste Transfer Station <br />1333 E. Turner Road <br />Lodi, California 95241-9501 <br />BACKGROUND <br />Waste Management, Inc., (WMI) owns and operates a transfer station at 1333 E. Turner Road, in <br />Lodi, California. At the transfer station, WMI mechanics perform maintenance and minor <br />repairs of fleet vehicles and therefore generate used oil. The used oil is temporarily stored in an <br />above ground `Waste Oil' tank until removed for processing and recycling by Evergreen <br />Environmental Services, Inc., (Evergreen). <br />Used oil collected from residential customers is also stored at the transfer station in a `Waste Oil' <br />tank until removed for processing and recycling by Evergreen. The residential customers waste <br />oil storage tank is addressed in a separate tank assessment report. This Hazardous Waste Oil <br />Tank Assessment Report addresses the system design, structural strength, and waste <br />compatibility of the tank that stores used oil generated from maintenance and minor repairs of <br />WMI fleet vehicles only. <br />The purpose of the waste tank assessment is to evaluate whether the existing tank system was <br />adequately designed, has sufficient structural strength and compatibility with the wastes to be <br />transferred and stored, as described in Title 22, California Code of Regulations, §66265.192, <br />Design and Installation of New Tank Systems or Components (22 CCR §66265.192). The Waste <br />Tank Assessment Report must be a written document that describes the following, at a <br />n <br />(1) Design standard(s), according to which the tank and ancillary equipment were <br />constmc�ed, if design standards are available; <br />(2) Hazardous characteristics of the waste(s) that have been or will be transferred and <br />stored in tank; <br />(3) Existing corrosion protection measures; <br />(4) Age of the tank system, if available; and, <br />(5) Results of leak tests, internal inspections, or other tank integrity testing that has <br />been completed and dates completed. <br />Hazardous Waste Oil Tank Assessment Report / NES.
