Purging the tank of explosive fumes . 3 . Entering the tank. 4. Cleaning and sandblasting . 5 . Application of the NSS 37E Liner. 6. Tank closure and testing. 1. GENERAL A. In addition to obtaining the required permits, etc. , the Contractor will obtain the approval of the local Fire Marshall and/or the regulating authorities, where required. B. The scope of the contract covers a turnkey job including, but not limited to, excavation, opening tank, safe removal and disposal of bottom sediment and water, tank surface preparation, liner application, testing and closure of the tank and finishing of grade to its original surface. C. NORCAP Sales and Services instructions are to be followed in the handling, mixing and application of the resin compounds . D. There will be a CONTRACTOR' S employee on hand at all times , who understands lead hazard and the fire and explosion potential,as he will be responsible for maintaining a safe environment in the work area. E. The CONTRACTOR shall be familiar and comply with the relevant procedures established by all Federal, State and Municipal mandates. F. Owner or his agent will remove the free product from the tank, leaving the bottom sediment and water for removal by the CONTRACTOR. Bottom sediment and water shall be disposed of by the owner or his agent in a safe manner that is acceptable to the Local, State and Federal regulatory agencies. G. Before any work is done, the work area is to be barricaded and the required danger and caution signs posted. The area is to be kept free of sources of ignition during the work period. H. The CONTRACTOR will have on hand, a properly maintained and tested portable fire extinguisher, with a minimum Underwriter Laboratory extinguisher rating of 12 B.
