TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
USING NSS 37E EPDXY/FRP TANK LININGS
ANNEX C
TESTS FOR. DETERMINING COATING CURE
NSS 37E EPDXY/FRP TANK LINING cure is determined by the use
of the following:
Barcol Hardness Tester GYZJ 935 (Barber Coleman Company,
Rockford, Illinois) , or equal; "This method leaves a void in the
liner and the tested area must be recoated to eliminate the
void. "
The design of the Impressor is such that operating
experience is not essential. It is only necessary to exert a
light pressure against the instrument to drive the spring loaded
indenter into the material to be tested. The instrument can be
used in any position provided that it is perpendicular to the
surface. The hardness reading is instantly indicated on the dial
which is conveniently divided into one hundred graduations. No
waiting, preloading or separate measurements are needed.
The barcol hardness on NSS 37E should be 65-75 when cured.
