Bankruptcy Court Case No. 01-30923 In re Pacific Gas and Electric Company Proof of Claim No.: 4814 Dear Mr.Wilson: You have submitted the Proof of Claim listed above in Pacific Gas and Electric Company's ("PG&E") bankruptcy proceeding filed in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court ("Bankruptcy Court"). Attached for your review is a Stipulation Regarding Allowance of Claim, which reflects our recent agreement on the amount of your claim. Please read the Stipulation carefully, and then sign the Stipulation where indicated and include the date of signature, and return it to Pacific Gas and Electric Company in the enclosed pre-addressed envelope. Enclosed is a copy of the Bankruptcy Court's January 3, 2002 Notice of Order Authorizing Settlement of Claims ("Notice"); the Bankruptcy Court has directed this Notice be sent to any person entering into a stipulation or settlement on their claim. As you can see from the Notice, the Bankruptcy Court has authorized PG&E to reach settlement on the amount of pre-petition claims filed against PG&E without further approval from the Court where(with certain exceptions) the amount of any such settled claim is$100,000.00 or less, or the amount of the claim exceeds $100,000.00 and meets the criteria described in the Notice. By order issued March 29, 2002 (Order on Motion of Pacific Gas and Electric Company for Authorization to Pay Certain Categories of Pre-Petition Claims), hereinafter the"Order", the Bankruptcy Court issued further directions regarding claims in the amounts of$5,000 or less (copy of Order enclosed). In accordance with the Order referenced above, PG&E is authorized to pay on or before July 31, 2002, certain valid pre-petition claifns of$5,000 or less. The claim listed in the subject matter line above meets the criteria set forth i�the Order. Therefore, PG&E will process the payment of your claim on or before July 31, 2002, as long as you sign and return the attached Stipulation Regarding Allowance of Claim before May 31, 2002, in accordance with the directions in the first paragraph.
