New employees and employees with new hazardous waste management <br /> responsibilities complete an entire module for each hazardous waste job <br /> function that they will be performing. This training is completed within six <br /> months of the start of their new assignment. All employees involved in <br /> hazardous waste management participate in annual review sessions pertinent to <br /> their responsibilities. <br /> 3. PG&E employees may receive several other types of training as appropriate in <br /> the areas of hazardous materials handling and hazardous waste management. <br /> These include: <br /> a. Weekly "tailboards" are held, during which job-related hazardous <br /> materials and wastes issues may be discussed. Formal Accident Prevention <br /> Meetings are held six times per year. <br /> b. Fire response and fire extinguisher training with a reference to the PG&E <br /> Fire Prevention Manual is provided for all physical and semi-physical <br /> PG&E personnel. Each worker also receives a PG&E Accident Prevention <br /> Book which includes information on fire training. <br /> C. Six hours per year of First Aid instruction is provided for all physical <br /> and semi-physical PG&E personnel. The instruction is presented by <br /> qualified PG&E-approved personnel and includes CPR training. <br /> d. PCB training, including PCB spill response, waste packaging and <br /> labelling, transportation, and general health and safety concerns related <br /> to PCBs, is given to Electric T&D and Substation employees. <br /> e. Incipient stage fire brigade training, which provides first-response <br /> training for small or easily extinguishable fires , is given to <br /> individuals with emergency response roles. <br /> f. One-on-one or small group training, where a supervisor zeroes in on <br /> specific tasks or activities related to hazardous materials or waste <br /> management, is given to many employees. <br /> 4-13 <br />
