City of Lodi <br /> FIRE DEPARTMENT <br /> HEADQUARTERS STATION <br /> 210 WEST ELM STREET <br /> LODI, CALIFORNIA 95240 <br /> (209) 333-6735 <br /> FLAMMABLE LIQUID TANK REMOVAL PROCEDURE <br /> Section 79.217 Uniform Fire Code - City of Lodi <br /> "A permit shall be obtained from the Bureau of Fire Prevention <br /> to remove, abandon, place temporarily out of service or other- <br /> wise dispose of, any flammable or combustible liquid storage <br /> tank." <br /> In addition, the procedures outlined below, shall be followed: <br /> 1. Remove all flammable liquids from the tank and from the <br /> connecting lines. <br /> 2. Disconnect the suction, inlet, gauge and vent lines. <br /> Note: Fire Department personnel to be on the scene to witness <br /> the following: <br /> 15 <br /> 3. Install ten (1el pounds dry ice (CO2) for every thousand <br /> gallon capacity of the tank. Let the tank vent for thirty <br /> (30) minutes to discipate the flammable vapors, then cap <br /> the tank. <br /> 4. All caps, plug inlets and outlets, shall be capped and kept <br /> capped or plugged during the removal and transporting of the <br /> tank. <br /> 5.
