The rinsate will be removed and transported by B&L Vacuum
Service, EPA# CAT 080034069. Lingering vapors must be measured with an appropriate
explosivity meter that measures LEL (lower explosive limit) . A
maximum 5% LEL reading must be achieved to no longer be a
hazardous waste.
Soil samples must be obtained at time of tank removal .
All samples are to be obtained by lab personnel or individuals
knowledgeable of E.P.A. sampling procedures, for example:
preventing cross contamination between samples, obtaining
undisturbed samples in appropriate containers. All samples must
be analyzed by a state certified ha.zardous waste laboratory.
Soil samples will be obtained by the use of a backhoe.
Samples will be taken from the backhoe bucket . Two soil samples
per tank (tank size 1 ,000-10,000 gal .) will be obtained, one at
each end of tank and at a depth to be determined by Environmental
Health inspector .
1054 North 'J' Street + Post Office Box 1220 + Tulare, California 93275 • (209) 688-1980
