X. APPLICATION OF THE FIBERGLASS REINFORCED LINING The final linining shall have minimum thickness of 90 to 100 mills with atleast a 25 to 30 percent fiberglass content. Fiberglass lining will meet the following specifications: TENSILE STRENTH: 40 ,000 PSI FLEXURAL STRENTH: 69 ,000 PSI FLEXURAL MODULUS: 220 ,000 PSI COMPRESSIVE STRENTH: 42,000 PSI BONDING: 1200 TO 1500 PSI XI. INSPECTION AND TESTING Once the application of fiberglass lining material has been completed, it will be checked with a barcol tester to ensure proper cure. A holiday test at a mininmum of 35,000 volts will be used to detect any pinholes and to ensure that the fiberglass lining material is tight. Personnel performing the testing shall be thoroughly trained in the use of the testing equipment. If any defects are found, they will be repaired. Before final closing of the tank , a quarter inch steel plate with the minimum deminsions of 8"x 8" shall be installed under the fill and gauging tubes. XII. TANK CLOSING If an opening has been cut, a steel cover plate that is rolled to the contour of the tank will be installed. The steel cover plate shall overlap atleast two inches on all sides. Once the cover has been sandblasted to white metal on both sides, it will be bolted down to the tank with self tapping bolts and with resin applied between the cover plate and the tank. After the lid has been bolted to the tank , the entire surface of the lid will be applied with fiberglass lining material with a 3 inch overlap to the tank. Once the fiberglass lining material has cured, the lid is to be holidayed at 35,000 volts for pinholes.
