During our review of the PR we noted that ground water contamination
exists at this site. In order to document fluctuations and possible
degradation in hydrocarbon contaminant levels at your site, we recommend that
quarterly monitoring of ground water be initiated immediately. Samples are to
be collected and analyzed for benzene, toluene, xylene, and ethylbenzene
(BTX&E) and total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline and diesel (TPH as G and
TPH as D). Water levels also need to be monitored quarterly to document
ground water level fluctuations and to verify the gradient direction.
We are preparing a detailed response to your 3 January 1989 PR which should be
finalized and sent to you by the end of next week.
If you have any questions, please call me at (916) 361-5725.
9"6U.,4Gvvrtiu
EDWARD W.
