Weber Avenue, 3`d Floor <br /> Stockton, CA 95202 <br /> Dear Mr.Knoll: <br /> Re: Pacific Gas and Electric Company(PG&E)various <br /> releases at McDonald Island Underground Storage Facility <br /> The following is a final report for the minor hydraulic oil releases which occurred during the months of <br /> June and July at the Natural Gas Underground Storage Facility on McDonald Island,west of Stockton. <br /> On June 8, 1999 at 6:40 PM a hydraulic hose on a working rig at the Whiskey Slough Station broke and <br /> released 5 to 8 gallons of hydraulic oil to ground. Notifications were made to San Joaquin County OES <br /> and the San Joaquin County Sheriff's Department at 6:45 PM,the State OES at 8:10 PM. Control <br /> Number 99-2450 was received. <br /> One June 26, 1999 at 2:30 PPM a fuse plug at Turner Cut Well No. 2 South failed and released approx. 1 <br /> gallon of hydraulic oil to ground. Notifications were made to San Joaquin County OES via the Sheriffs <br /> Department at 3:45 PM. The County Environmental Health Department was notified at 3:50 PM. <br /> On July 6, 1999 at 8:08 AM a fuse plug at Turner Cut Well No. 13 South failed and released 25 to 30 <br /> gallons of hydraulic oil to the containment berm. Approx. 1 pint was released to ground. Notifications <br /> were made to San Joaquin County OES and San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department at <br /> 8:20 AM. <br /> All leaks were quickly contained and cleaned up. The contaminated waste was placed on plastic and <br /> covered. The waste was sampled and determined to be non-hazardous. It was transported to Forward <br /> Landfill on 7-27-99.
