Stockton Service Cen*
PG&E
UNDERGROUND TANK MONITORING
REQUIREMENTS
A TLS-2501 Ronan Series X76S Tank Monitoring System was
installed for the double-wall underground tanks. A Leak Alert
Model number LA-08 was installed to monitor the waste oil and
the Hydraulic oil double-wall underground tanks. The TLS-
250/Ronan monitor the inventory of gasoline and diesel and
utilizes the considerations of volumes, pressure, temperature, and
amount of water condensation in the tank to detect leaks in the
tank or piping. This electric system is also an automatic in tank
level monitor to accurately determine existing inventories at any
time of gasoline and diesel. The TLS-250 printer or data output
terminal is located in the Autoshop and prints out a daily
detection notice. The Leak Alert Model number LA-08 is designed
to monitor the product plus the annular space in both the waste
oil and the hydraulic oil tanks.
The All monitor systems include an alarm which sounds off in
the Autoshop. Department employees are prepared to respond to
the emergency through procedures in the Emergency Response
Plan.
The TLS-250 is to be calibrated and tested on a annual basis.
Additionally the piping is tightness tested annually.
Training for the monitoring system and the tank system are done
through review of the owners manual and a hands-on review of
the monitoring system performed by the calibration tester.
1 . This device is a dual-channel system, a internal tank level probe
is used to detect leaks of liquid from the tank. It is also
equipped with an audible "BUZZER ALARM" to alert operators of
a possible leak. The leak detection report can furnish a
"pass/fail" summary of the test results. The system includes
eight auxiliary input contacts to monitor other external vapor or
liquid detection systems.
