5.0 GENERAL HEALTH AND SAFETY REQUIREMENTS <br /> 5.1 Safety Orientation Meeting <br /> All field personnel must attend a safety orientation meeting before commencing <br /> the field work. The meeting will be scheduled and conducted by the Project <br /> Manager or the Project Consultant. The meeting will include presentation of the <br /> health and safety plan. <br /> 5.2 Work Zone <br /> A restricted zone will be maintained to a distance of 25 feet from the work activity <br /> area if significant soil contamination is detected in the field. Protective clothing <br /> and equipment, as described below in subsection 5.3 are to be worn by all <br /> personnel working within the restricted zone. <br /> 5.3 Personnel Protective Equipment and Clothing (PPE) <br /> 5.3.1 Equipment Required For Field Personnel <br /> • Full length trousers, shirts <br /> • Safety shoes <br /> • Safety helmet <br /> • Protective eyewear <br /> • Reflective vest <br /> • Hearing protection <br /> 5.3.2 Equipment Required To Be Available On Site <br /> • Disposable Coveralls <br /> • Gloves <br /> • Respirators (half-mask with organic vapor and inorganic cartridges) <br /> • First-aid kit <br /> • Fire extinguisher, two (2) minimum, 80BC <br /> • Construction tape and barriers to delineate work zone <br /> Health and Safety Plan I Page 6 <br />
