Mr. Patrick G. Durham
October 21, 1988
Page 2
II. Chemical Analysis
Anametrix Laboratory Services of San Jose, California tested one
soil (PG-1) and one water (GW-1) sample retrieved from the tank
excavation pit for the following:
o Total Volatile Hydrocarbons (TVH) with benzene, toluene,
ethylbenzene and xylene (EPA 5030 & 8020 w/BTEX)
o Ethylene Dibromide
o Total Lead
Results of laboratory analysis are summarized in Table 1.
Samples obtained below the gasoline tank excavation indicate that
no contamination is present in the soil or in groundwater below
the tank pit. Lead was detected at a level of 13 . 3 ppm, clearly
a back ground level.
A copy of the laboratory report as well as the chain of custody
appear in Appendix II.
III . Site Completion
The material removed for tank excavation was placed back in the
open pit and compacted along with clean fill brought on site.
No further action is deemed necessary at the Pure Gro facility.
If you have any questions, please call at (415) 829-0661 .
Sincerely,
Matthew J.GHopwood ent 'A.
