Box 2009
1601 East Hazelton Avenue
Stockton, CA 95201
Attention: Charles Hunt
Gentlemen:
On September 14, 1989 Cottle Engineering would like to
remove two (2) underground fuel storage tanks from the East
Bay Municipal Utility District facility located at West Main
Street in Stockton.
Prior to removing the tanks and piping will be rinsed
with non-sudsing bio-degradable detergent and vacuumed dry.
This rinsate will be manifested and disposed of as contaminated
waste. After the tanks are vacuumed approximately 100 lbs.
will be added to each tank to suppress organic vapors.
The tanks will then be lifted on to a licensed flatbed
truck for transporting to the disposal facility. Soil samples
will be extracted from the excavation with the backhoe bucket
and a technician from West Labs will extract the samples in
brass tubes from the bucket. All contaminated wastes will be
hauled and disposed of by Hydro-Chem Services of San Francisco.
Sincerely,
David E. Cottle, Sr.
DEC/crc
