The use of field logbooks as described in <br /> Section H "Field Quality Control" is <br /> required . <br /> 2. When sampling these sites the regulatory agency <br /> will either supervise or approve sampling <br /> location, collection, and preservation techniques . <br /> 3 . Collection of samples requires keeping both safety <br /> and accuracy in mind. <br /> a . The most accurate samples are those collected <br /> by causing the least disturbance of soil . <br /> b. Take samples from the bottom of the <br /> excavations . <br /> C . Samples should be collected 1 2 'feet below <br /> the bottom of the excavation at suspected <br /> worst areas . This will include: locations <br /> such as areas around the tank and piping, or <br /> where they used to be, <br /> that look stained or <br /> colored; the lowest point of the tank, if <br /> this can easily be determined; where the tank <br /> meets the piping; and beneath the fill lines . <br /> 4 . Soil Samples <br /> a .
